Day Four


Day Four of Game Jam...

Today I felt a little rundown with a cold, and also had to tackle a task I'd been putting off, creating the high score entry system.

I've had issues with this in past games and had never found a good solution, until now that is!

Anyone looking for a way to store high scores, I can recommend https://playfab.com/, the only downside I've seen so far is that the free version says it will only store results for 30 rolling days, but thats probably fine for this game jam!

My scoreboard now stores names and scores on the playfab site and are shown at the end:



For entering your name, I had some issues using a standard text input, as unity webGL apparently doesn't support mobile keyboards (oh yeah, my game is compatible with mobiles too).

So I ended up using this keyboard to allow players to tap the keys on their mobile. It doesn't look very pretty, but it's free and does the job :)


Tomorrow hopefully I can get back to more "gamey" things, like improving gfx and sfx!
